Illustrating and writing children's books has been a life long passtime for Kristen. Her busy career as an elementary school teacher and principle education left little time to develop her books and illustrations. In 2014 Kristen, her husband Stewart and their two large cats left busy Orange County and moved to the quiet seaside community of Cambria-by-the-Sea, in Central California. There she has finally found time to work on her drawings, storylines and prose. Her creative process is greatly enhanced as she sits under the pine trees and is entertained by wild turkeys and deer parading through their property.
Her first published work, "A Frolic of Otters" has been well received and has led to many more delightful works. She is currently spending her retirement reworking her whimsical children's stories which previously existed as quickly drawn sketches and paragraphs thrown into a folder. They are currently bursting into life at a furious rate. Stand by for more delightful stories; some true, some half-true and my favorites,"if only" they were true.
