Restaurant One: Mama's Kitchen About: Mama's Kitchen is all about eating traditional Southern cooking and more. From offering ham, eggs and grits for breakfast to fried chicken, biscuits and gravy for dinner, the feeling is down home family style eating. Located in North San Diego County (you choose the city), Mama's Kitchen offers a slightly gourmet interpretation of Southern homestyle cooking in a casual “roadhouse” setting, with the service and hospitality you would expect in fine dining establishments. House specialties include crab cakes with smoked tomato sauce, downhome gumbo, and a beefalo herb-baked meatloaf stack. In addition to offering classic Southern refreshments such as the Mint Julep and Old Fashion cocktails, Mama's Kitchen has a beverage list that offer an array of specialty cocktails and an inclusive well-edited wine list. The cafe accommodates 45 guests in an intimately-lit dining area and bar. Alfresco dining is available on its 30-seat enclosed patio, which is an option for private parties.
